Chooks-to-Go rallies to notch opening win

Kiefer Ravena and naturalized player prospect Isaiah Austin led the fight back of Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas to edge BC Astana, 73-65, in their opening games in the current FIBA Asia Champions Cup at the Chenzhou Sports Center in China last September 22 (Manila time).

Ravena paced the nationals with 22 points, 11 of which were scored in the pivotal third quarter, three rebounds, two assists, and a pair of steals.

Austin provided an all-around debut to the squad finishing with 17 points, 18 rebounds and six block shots.

Kazakhstan started strong and led 43-35 at the half, highlighted with eight triples but lost touch in the final half.

Dmitriy Gavrilov paced the team with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
