Pau Gasol dominated play and helped Spain capture the gold medal at EuroBasket 2015 with a cruising 80-63 win over Lithuania. It was Spain 3rd Eurobasket title. Lithuania has won on three titles and both nations tied as the third most successful countries in the history of the competition.

Hosts and 2013 champions France may not have been in the final game at Lille’s Pierre Mauroy stadium, but there fans still turned out in abundance. They set a record of 27,372 basketball spectators to watch Spain cement its recent dominance on this tournament. France’s win in 2013 broke a Spanish streak, but nevertheless the country has now won three of the last four EuroBasket editions and is presiding over a glorious era.
