Global Basketball is named the Official Marketing Partner of the WBA. The WBA is an eleven (11) year old North American professional basketball league that plays in the summer and features established international players and former college players seeking experience and exposure in the professional market. NBA players including Josh Powell, Jamario Moon, Damian Wilkins, Anthony Grundy and David Young have all played in the WBA in their developmental years. Over 400 former WBA players have gone on to play professional basketball in the international market. The majority of teams in the WBA are located in the southeast part of the United States with Atlanta being the league hub. The WBA began with the premise of duplicating the popular United States Basketball League (USBL), which was a prominent summer league that NBA and overseas scouts frequented a decade ago.
Darryl Reshaw the Executive Director of Global Basketball is excited to have his sports marketing team promote the established pro summer league. He says “the partnership is a very unique opportunity due to the fact that the WBA plays in the summer and established professional players play in the league after their regular season ends. The timing of the league provides coaches from other pro leagues the opportunity to scout the WBA”. Darryl also stated that there are only a few North American professional basketball leagues competing in the summer compared to the winter season where the market is saturated with too many minor league organizations. All of the WBA franchises have established fan bases and are individually owned.

Global Basketball objective is to implement a range of creative marketing initiatives to promote and increase the league’s world wide visibility. Leroy McMath the WBA’s original founder is excited to partner with the Global Basketball brand and expects their marketing initiatives to duplicate the success of their existing event property the Global Basketball Summer League (GBSL). The 2012 GBSL event featured the best talent outside the NBA Summer league and was scouted by hundreds of overseas scouts. The partnership entails the creation of new events, sponsorship opportunities and the formation of strategic international alliances. Both parties primary objective is to create brand recognition in the international basketball market.

Congratulations Darryl!!!! I know you could use a good coach , psychologist and tough old guy who survived 4th stage cancer & a 3 month coma to show these young men what life and THE GAME is REALLY all about. You know I love the game and I AM LOYAL to you which you know in business is hard to find. I leave these things up to God & you to see IF they are meant to be. I do have alot of contacts in Michigan.
Either way I met a good man who helps others & loves the game! Best to you my friend & his family!! Doc 231-828-2442
