Rickey Cleveland George to coach the Kosovo-Euro Team at the Global Basketball Summer League

Date: Session A: July 6th -9th
Session B: July 9th -12th

Venue: Doolittle Community Center, Las Vegas, NV

Kosovo-Euro Team is one of the (8) featured international teams competing in the quarter-final tournament in Las Vegas. The international clubs will use the event to evaluate ten (10) free agent imports of their choice over a (4) day period. The event format is similar to the NBA Summer League.

Rickey Cleveland George is the former Head Coach of BKP Kastrioti Ferizaj (Kosovo SuperLeague) and is scouting for several Kosovo and European teams looking to fill their American import positions. He will use the Global Basketball Summer League as a platform to provide scouting information for these teams. Rickey developed several key relationships with the top coaches in the Kosovo Super League the past two years. Rickey has a reputation of an excellent recruiter and bought some of the best American import talent to the league. He is also connected to several teams in Western Europe and the Baltic Region that will depend on his summer scouting information. The Kosovo SuperLeague is competing as a FIBA sanctioned league in the 2015-16 for the first time. Their FIBA certification will improve the overall management and infrastructure of the league.

The Kosovo SuperLeague provides young American imports an opportunity to play basketball in a region that borders Serbia and Macedonia. The region produces a lot of top European prospects and is a hotbed of international basketball. The league allows teams to sign (4) imports and over the last ten years lots of American players have began their careers in Kosovo.

Meet the Rickey Cleveland-George:


Rickey Cleveland-George is a young and upcoming coach that landed his first head European coaching job in the Kosovo SuperLeague in the 2013-14 & 2014-15 seasons. Rickey in 2013 was the Vice President of Basketball Operations for the World Basketball Association (WBA) based in Atlanta, George. He and was responsible for day to day management decisions regarding the (10) year old summer professional league that is noted for producing NBA player Jamario Moon and lots of overseas professionals. Rickey coached the WBA All Star Team in the 2013 Global Basketball Sumer League in Las Vegas. His top player Jeremy Price was signed by the top team in Angola based on his performances. Rickey is a former overseas professional player that had stints in Estonia, Kosovo and the ABA.

Recruiting and Exposure:
The GBSL Las Vegas International Pro Division provides a very effective recruiting opportunity for scouts to evaluate (10) quality imports over a four day period in a professional environment. The event features NBA D League referees, 40 minute regulation games, NBA rules & 24 second shot clock, schedule practices, internet televised games with play by play broadcasting and high-level pro competition. Additionally, Pointstreak Technology is the statistical partner of the GBSL. They provide ESPN like game casting, up-to-date scores, stats, schedules, standings and rosters that are automatically generated and shared online with players, parents, fans, scouts and media. Kosovo-Euro Summer League Team:
Players, agents and coaches that are interested in securing a spot on the Kosovo-Euro Summer League team should contact Rickey Cleveland George immediately. All participants are required to register on the GBSL site for consideration. If an applicant is selected by the club they will be required to pay the GBSL registration fee.
Only high-level prospects that played in the 2014-15 season at a NCAA Division 1 program, 2014-15 Small College All Americans or professional experienced players will be considered. There will be (7) other professional teams evaluating talent at the GBSL combined with hundreds of other international scouts and agents attending the event.
