Atlanta — UConn Bound Alterique Gilbert will display his Electrifying Skills This Weekend

This weekend the Georgia High School Basketball Tournament features some of the best high school talent in the United States. The Peach State produces a lot high level NCAA D1 talent on a yearly basis and there is no brighter star in the 2016 class than UConn bound Alterique Gilbert. This year Alterique has been selected to participate in the McDonalds High School All American game and also the Jordan Brand Classic both events feature the top high school seniors in the United States.

Alterique Gilbert is a senior PG for Miller Grove High School and is ranked as the No. 4 point guard in the nation and No. 28 overall by ESPN.com. He is considered an ankle breaking PG with Chris Paul like ball-handling skills. Kevin Ollie, UConn head coach loves the fact that defenders can’t stay in front of him and is excited that he has landed the next great PG at UConn. That is saying a lot due to the fact he is following the footsteps of Kemba Walker and Shabazz Napier.

Gilbert has been playing AAU basketball for Team CP3 and has the luxury of having Chris Paul as a mentor. Gilbert is a humble leader and a high quality student athlete that plays for a Georgia High School powerhouse. Miller Grove won (6) consecutive Georgia High School State 5A Championships and is trying to bounce back after getting their championship streak snapped in the 2014-15 season. Miller Grove takes on South Paulding today at Columbus State University in the Elite 8 and is looking to advance to the Final Four on Saturday.
