Egypt Crowned FIBA Africa U18 Champions


Egypt were crowned FIBA Africa U18 men’s champions after ther defaeated Tunisia 80 – 69 in the final of the 2014 FIBA Africa U18 Championship for Men held at Palais des Sports, Antananarivo, Madagascar.

It is Egypt’s sixth U18 continental title.

Ahmed Abdelrahman netted game high 24-point for Egypt while Bassem Alian contributed 20, and Mahmoud Elsayed added 18 for the Egyptians

.Both Egypt and Tunisia will represent FIBA Africa at the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship.

In the battle for the third place, Mali defeated Angola 75 – 65 to claim the bronze medal.

N’fali Kanoute netted 18 points for Mali while Gerson Domingo’s 19 points were not enough to avoid Angola’s fourth defeat in the tournament.
